Outdoor Gathering August Updates

Outdoor Gathering August Updates

Recently, the State of Washington released updated guidelines for worship gatherings. The most noteworthy change is that the number of people allowed in outdoor gatherings in Phase 2 was increased from 100 to 200! This is great news, especially since we have plenty of room in the lawn to accommodate everybody. We want to encourage you to come to worship this Sunday!

Church Building Renovations

Now that God has brought Martha Lake and Sound City together to serve as one local church body we are in the midst of working on renovating our building space to accommodate our combined people. There is quite a bit of work to be done and we will need help with the renovations and construction.

We would love to have anyone and everyone help out with the work, but some of the specific skills we are looking for are in areas of:

  • General Construction

  • Project Management

  • Carpentry

  • Electrical skills

  • Plumbing

  • Painting

  • Landscaping

  • Moving Furniture and Equipment

If you are interested in serving our church in any of these areas, or just as a general helping hand, fill out this form and we will get in contact with you about how and when you can help.

Regathering Plan | Part 2: Outdoor + Online

Regathering Plan | Part 2: Outdoor + Online

The last time that we gathered in-person for worship at Lynnwood High was March 8th. On May 28, 2020, Governor Inslee announced that faith communities can hold in-person worship services in an outdoor setting with up to 100 participants. We have decided to transition to outdoor services on the Martha Lake property while maintaining an online worship option.

Church Family,

The time is drawing near when we will be able to regather as a church. There are still unknowns due to the constantly changing guidelines and the practical new standards we will need to adhere to, but overall our area is beginning to relax restrictions. Churches, praise God, are at the forefront of doing so with special permission. As we enter into the regathering process, the leadership of Sound City wants to focus on three convictions and three realities:

Lynnwood High School and the Coronavirus

Lynnwood High School and the Coronavirus

On Friday, March 6, the Edmonds School District released an announcement that they would be cancelling all non-school-related events in ESD facilities…including rentals on weekends. Community use of ESD facilities is suspended from March 9th through April 12th. This means that we cannot use Lynnwood High School for worship services on these dates, including Good Friday and Easter.
