Celebrating | Community Group Outreach BBQ

In our corner of the Pacific Northwest, it can be hard to plan outdoor events due to the weather. Regardless, on a recent rainy Summer afternoon, one Sound City community group assembled to share love and friendship with neighbors. It is certainly worth celebrating!

This group, led by Jordan and Alicia Galbraith, had a simple goal: to look beyond themselves and share the love and message of Jesus with their  neighbors. They did this by offering food, games, fellowship, and sharing the message of the Gospel. The parking lot slowly filled with men, women, and families from the nearby streets. With the support of the Lynnwood Police Department, a few police officers also came by to interact with the kids and families. Here’s what the day looked like:

Some of the interactions were short and brief, while some were longer and more in-depth, but all were meaningful and, we pray, God-glorifying. Each of these interactions was a way to share Christ's love and plant seeds for people’s lives to be changed! Two neighborhood women who came to the BBQ even made it out to a Sunday service the next day! For all those who came, we pray we'll see them again, whether in our neighborhood or on a Sunday. Please join us in prayer that God would draw each one in attendance to himself in a saving way, just as perhaps you or someone you know came to love the Lord through seeds planted in a similar way. We're also celebrating the many other Covenant Members of Sound City that came together to support this community group's mission of reaching out to the commmunity in the name of Christ in a local, fun, and practical way!
