From the annual Old Navy t-shirts to epic fireworks, Americans love to celebrate the declaration of our freedom in bright and bold ways. Today we're celebrating how Sound City members both new and old took it a step further by celebrating the 4th of July while sharing about Jesus Christ.
Picture it: sunshine, patriotism, hot dogs, and people hearing about—and experiencing—the gospel. This past Wednesday, folks from Sound City gathered together at Edmonds City Park to put on a fun and free event. With the Firefighter Waterball Competition taking place just on the other side of the field, there were many people who made their way through the food and drink line, which meant many opportunities to interact with the community and serve them both practically and spiritually.
While cold water was being handed out, Sound City members were also able to step aside and pray for people right there in the park, sharing with them about God's goodness and grace. A full 300 hot dogs were served up, with many thanks to Pastor Kyle Hackett's and Jim Lagucik's community groups for cooking and serving lunch. BJ and Kendra Higa, who are new to the Sound City family, handed out delicious Otter Pops to help keep kids cool in the warm weather, while Katie Adams used her artistic talents to offer up free face painting.
Please join us as we pray for the connections that were made on the 4th of July, for God to stir in the hearts of the people in our local community, and for continued opportunities to share the gospel. We are thankful for the generosity of everyone who helped make this an afternoon to remember!
