Discussion Questions

  1. Why is church-planting such an important and needed activity?
  2. Where in your life are you prone to consumeristic thinking about the church? How is God stretching you to think like a missionary instead?
  3. Consider this quote: “The Holy Spirit didn’t gather us into this body APART from His purpose to empower a world-wide witness, He gathered us FOR His purpose to empower a world-wide witness!” How does this change our mindset when it comes to the church?
  4. Consider the term “holistic disciple.” What elements should that include (e.g. bible reading, prayer, membership, etc.)?
  5. Read Hebrews 13:17. How can submitting to elders be a joy in the life of a Christian? Where is this a challenge for you?

Prayer Points

  1. Pray for the elders and all other leaders of Sound City Bible Church.
  2. Pray for pastors who are planting churches, for their strengthening, encouragement, protection, and fruitfulness.
  3. Pray that God would raise up new leaders and provide the resources for new churches.
  4. Pray that God would use Sound City Bible Church to be a part of the 2,000 year movement of church planting.
