Celebrating | Loving Refugees

How can we love refugees? How can we love refugees as Jesus has loved us? This spring, a discipleship group set out to learn more. Led by Kelsie Braceros, and John and Kristen Holdsworth, the group walked through the book You Welcomed Me by Kent Annan.

The refugee crisis is fraught with global political implications, but the group’s specific focus was to lay aside the “us vs. them” mentality and investigate through the lens of Scripture. Kristen shared, “This group genuinely leaned into these issues and challenged me to think through practical logistics and implications while also applying the biblical truth of what it means to love my neighbor.”

John added, “It was life giving to be with others from Sound City with different backgrounds, life experiences, and perspectives to find ways to live out the gospel as we seek to help the most vulnerable.”
