Celebrating | Night of Prayer June 2019

On June 7th, thirty people gathered to pray together and sing praise to God. The Night of Prayer was an opportunity to lay aside the distractions of life and bring our hopes, worries, and needs to Jesus. Life in the suburbs is too often a never ending parade of busyness without true rest. We run around on empty, hoping coffee, protein powder, and downtime spent on social media will give us the energy and strength we need for life.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
— Matthew 11:28

The simple, multi-generational gathering was led by deacons Jim and Shelli Lagucik and Brittany Hackett, as well as Pastor Aaron. Mackenzie, Pastor Aaron’s daughter, also helped lead singing. The service went through three movements, and they can serve as a guide for all of us to pray through this week:

  1. Praise God for who he is, what he has done, and what he has promised.

  2. Pray for Sound City.

  3. Pray for the lost and the broken, and that we would have boldness in sharing the gospel.

We are so thankful for the Night of Prayer this month. Stay tuned for upcoming events as we continue to lean into prayer as a church in 2019.
