Recently, a group of approximately 20 hikers—made up of Sound City members and their guests—gathered together for an adventurous exploration of Beckler Peak. Today, we celebrate the new friendships made, the old friendships deepened, and the enjoying of God’s creation through fellowshipping in nature.
Lead by Sound City members Chris Vaughn and Hope Greenlee, the intermediate-level hike wove through 7.4 miles of old growth forests in the Central Cascades to a 2,240 foot elevation. Hikers were rewarded at the top with panoramic views of the Monte Cristo Range, Evergreen Mountain, and Glacier Peak.
“Many of us feel a deeper connection with God through creation. Hiking is not only fun, but it gives perspective and a tangible reality to how big God is,” said Hope. Please join us in prayers of thanksgiving for Chris and Hope, who led the hikers safely along the trail, and for the many fruitful and transparent conversations the group was able to have.
