Celebrating | Women's Retreat 2019

The weekend after Easter, fourteen women from Sound City joined the women of Edgewood Baptist Church for a retreat at Cedar Springs Christian Retreat Center in Sumas, Washington. With a theme of Love One Another, the women dove into the idea of community and enjoyed time away for worship and fellowship. Some highlights of the retreat included great meals, hiking, a book discussion, and a service project supporting Vision House.

Here’s some of what they had to share

"Beyond the beauty of Cedar Springs, God was so evident in each detail of this event. I feel blessed by the perspectives of women from multiple generations and different churches this weekend. It was a great way to connect women from both Sound City services too. It is so powerful to get away and focus on building community and friendships with other women. I can’t wait to see how God grows us from here!” – Erin Griffith

"This weekend was a great reminder about God’s delight in community, and his command to actively pursue it. God used Susan (the speaker) to teach on all the “one another” verses in a way that was so powerful while also being tangibly practical. One of the biggest blessings was getting to know women across generations and seeing the women of Sound City come together to strategize ways to build community throughout the upcoming year.” – Kristen Holdsworth

"Edgewood did an awesome job putting on this women’s retreat. I feel blessed to have been apart of this wonderful event. I’m excited about the new friendships that have formed during this weekend. I look forward to building on these friendships and hope Sound City will be able to host a retreat of our own someday!” – Kelsie Braceros

Let’s thank God for the work he is doing in the lives of the women of Sound City and Edgewood, and be praying that he would continue to build up his Church in the North Puget Sound region and in all the earth. We are one body, united in Christ, called to love one another as Jesus has loved us. (John 13:34-35)
