Are you up for a bit of a challenge? If you think you can handle it, we hope you will join some of us for an intermediate hike at Mount Si. We are going to enjoy the outdoors, God’s creation, and one another’s company.
The Mount Si Trail is one of the most popular trails in Washington, and for good reason. The summit offers incredible views of the Snoqualmie River Valley and the surrounding area. The parking area gets busy, and a Discover Pass is required, so carpooling is recommended.
The hike is hard enough to be a challenge, but not so difficult that weekend warriors can’t climb it. The trail is almost entirely uphill, with some brief flatter sections to catch your breath. You’re mostly hidden in the lush forest, until roughly 3.5 miles in, when you finally break out of the trees and the views begin.
Hikers will meet at the Mount Si trailhead at 8am on Saturday, August 20.
Directions - Take Exit 32 off of I-90 and turn left (north) onto 436th Ave SE. Drive 0.5 mile and turn left (west) onto North Bend Way. In 0.25 miles, turn right (north) onto Mount Si Road. Continue 2.5 miles and turn left into the large trailhead parking lot (600 ft).
This hike is for people who enjoy hiking and are in good physical condition. This would not be a good hike for young children or people who don’t exercise regularly. Contact Zach McDonald mcdonald.zach4@gmail.com with any questions.
