Our next opportunity for families to dedicate their children is coming up on Sunday, December 18th at both the 9:00am and 11:00am gatherings. While child dedication is not one of the official ordinances of the church, it is a practice that we see examples of in scripture (1 Samuel 1:11, Luke 2:22). Even our Lord Jesus was dedicated as a child! At Sound City Bible Church we don't practice infant baptism, but we do celebrate the birth of children with their parents by inviting parents to bring their little ones up on stage to introduce them to the church family. Sign-up now to dedicate your child on December 18th.
Dedication is an opportunity for parents to publicly pledge to raise their children in a God-honoring way (Proverbs 22:6) and for the church family to pledge to support them in the work of raising children (Galatians 6:2).
Each family will introduce themselves and read a scripture that the Lord has given them to be a prayer of blessing or vision for God's future work in the life of their child. We pray with them as they dedicate their children to the Lord and dedicate themselves to raising their children according to God's word.
