Each year during the holidays we find ways to demonstrate the love of Jesus in our community through your generosity to various local organizations. This year we will be meeting practical needs for families in need by supporting two organizations; Alderwood Middle School (across the street from the church building) and the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (the Lynnwood foster care office). We invite you to join in and participate by donating gifts for this year’s gift drive and gift cards for the giving tree. Once donations are collected we will distribute them to the appropriate organizations. Please take note below of the deadlines for these opportunities.
*Updated as of December 8th: All gifts for the middle school have been donated. We are still collecting gift cards for the Lynnwood DCYF office (see #2 below).
1) Gift Drive | Alderwood Middle School
We are hosting a gift drive to help provide Christmas gifts for children of families in need right here in our neighborhood. Participating is simple. Stop by the giving tree, near the front entrance in the lobby, on Sunday, November 29th and grab a tag with the needed information about what gifts to buy. Purchase the gift(s) on the tag, and bring back unwrapped gifts on Sunday, December 6th or by Thursday, December 10th at the latest. Please drop your gifts off under the giving tree, and keep the tag with the gifts. If you aren’t currently attending services in person but would still like to participate, please email kyle@soundcitybiblechurch.com to request a child (or children) you wish to buy gifts for. Gifts can also be dropped off at the church building during normal business hours. Reminder, the deadline for dropping gifts off is Thursday, December 10th.
2) Giving Tree | DCYF Office
We are also hosting our annual giving tree to support the local Lynnwood Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) office. Participating is simple. Stop by the giving tree on an upcoming Sunday, and grab a tag with the needed information about where to buy gift cards (for local stores). Buy a gift card with a designated amount, and return the gift card(s) by Sunday, December 20th. Please drop your gift cards in the secured give box near the giving tree. If you aren’t currently attending services in person but would still like to participate, please buy a gift card for one of the following stores (Fred Meyers, Target, QFC, Chick-fil-A, or Taco Time) in the amount of $15, $25, $50, or $100; and feel free to drop them off at the church office anytime during normal business hours (M-Th, 9a-5p).
